WORK EXPERIENCE: Bronwen – Y11 Queens College

10th July 2017

Bronwen, from Queens College Taunton,  was a very welcome addition to our volunteer bank at Taunton Foodbank last month.
She learned about the origins of the food bank in Taunton and how to rotate stock to ensure that those with a shorter shelf life were used first.
She had also had experience of packing individual crates which had different contents dependent on whether it was for a single person, a family or a large family.

Bronwen was also able to explain that this was totally made up of charitable donations, but the charity had seen a huge increase in need since changes to the benefits’ structure.

We are delighted to welcome any young people out there who are interested in volunteering with us.  Details on our Donate page.
