The Trussell Trust and, by association, Taunton Foodbank and its hubs have been overwhelmed by the support of Tesco and British Gas over these troubled times. Tesco pledged to provide £15 million of food donations (both non-perishable and fresh) to the The Trussell Trust and FareShare South West for 12 weeks to be distributed at food banks or FareShare’s community groups. Then British Gas volunteers pick up the food from the warehouses and bring them to the Foodbanks every week.
The images show another delivery that came in today – each delivery averages about a tonne.
As you can imagine, this makes an incredible difference to our stock levels which are being called upon in larger numbers than ever.
