The Trussell Trust runs the largest network of food banks in the UK, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Fourteen million people live below the poverty line and in the last year 2,5 million three-day emergency food supplies were distributed to people in crisis.
Lydeard Farm Shop chose us as their first charity of the month in August and, with the proceeds from the sales of their delicious Lemon Drizzle Cake, raised a whopping £180. They topped it up to £200 and Booker Cash and Carry have very kindly agreed to deliver directly their order of urgent needs for the Foodbank:
120 tins of potatoes
108 litre bottles of squash
72 packets of Smash
48 packs of toilet rolls
24 bottles of shower gel
So you can have your cake and eat it! Thank you to all involved.
