The Trussell Trust runs the largest network of food banks in the UK, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Fourteen million people live below the poverty line and in the last year 2,5 million three-day emergency food supplies were distributed to people in crisis.
Laura is with the Wilton Brownies and for her communities badge she had to do something for a charity and write a letter explaining why.
The direct result of that initiative was an amazing donation of 94 eggs a few weeks ago, along with her letter. There were even more handed over yesterday!
She has had local business support for her cause and also a lot of help from school.
This is the second year the family have done a collection as Laura’s brother Ryan also collected about 150 eggs last year. They tell us they have both been very happy to do something for a cause they both believe in.
How heartwarming to hear the younger generation coming through for those less fortunate than themselves.
